Vinit, Microbiology is the study of microorganisms, which are unicellular or cell-cluster microscopic organisms. In short; microbiology refers to the study of life and organisms that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. It is a broad term which includes virology, mycology, parasitology, bacteriology and other branches.
Biotechnology is technology based on biology, especially when used in agriculture, food Science, and medicine. It combines disciplines like genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology and cell biology, which are in turn linked to practical disciplines like chemical engineering, information technology, and biorobotics. Patho-biotechnology describes the exploitation of pathogens or pathogen derived compounds for beneficial effect.
If you are interested in research work than Microbiology will be the best for you. Otherwise both the branches are equally good.

The highest salary availed by LPU students was 6 LPA while the average salary was 3.8 LPA.
