You need to learn stuff outside your college course and at the same time maintain a decent CGPA. Decent CGPA is important so that you atleast qualify to sit for placements in the companies coming to your campus and you will have to acquire skills which you do by doing tutorials or MOOCs online. If you take care of these things, then you will easily get it.
All the best.

Most colleges require that you pass all core subjects before you can successfully apply for a course in higher education. It could also mean that you can apply for a course in B.Sc. Geology provided you clear your examinations before date of commencement. Moreover, if maths is not one of your core subjects, then you can take the best 4 and apply for B.Sc in geology.
