Every answer above has captured the essence of bioinformatics in general, so Ill restrict my answer to the differences between the 2 courses in VIT
ACADEMICALLY, Bioinformatics students do not study Embedded Systems, Microprocessors, Graphics and Multimedia, Mobile Computing, 2 math subjects and there are separate courses for Computer Architecture and Organisation and Digital Logic whereas bioinformatics students study it as 1 subject.
The courses that we do have are: Biological Databases, Analytical Bioinformatics, Cell Biology and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genomics and Proteomics, Molecular Evolution and Phylogeny e.t.c.
Courses like OOPP, DBMS, CN, CAO, OS, theory of computation, DSA, Algorithm design and analysis, software engineering, software project management are studied by students of both courses. Thus, there is around 70% similarity in the syllabi of both the courses.
PLACEMENT WISE, very few companies hesitate to let Bioinformatics students sit for placements. Out of 40+ companies that have come so far, only 14–15 (these are RnD/harware companies) haven't allowed hybrid branches but otherwise we are only next to CSE and IT in terms of placements and our PAT cell makes sure we get placed and are provided equal opportunities.
HOSTEL ROOM ALLOTMENT Is where we are blessed. We are a branch with strength of around 90–120 which means that if you get a CGPA of around 8.5 you still get the room of your choice unlike in branches with too many people. Scoring is not easy as people assume because at the end of the day we do compete for marks with both biotechnology and computer science students in our class.
This is how life is different for a cse with spec in bioinformatics student in vit. Rest depends what you make of your own time and effort.

Career Scope & Job Opportunities in Pharmacy field are huge. Due to the opening of large pharmaceutical companies, the future in the field of pharmacy is bright. Numerous jobs are available for pharmacists in government as well as private organizations. After completing your studies, you can easily find jobs in pharmaceutical industries, government departments, colleges and universities, hospitals, investigation and research institute etc. Pharmacists can practice in community pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, extended care facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and regulatory agencies. Sales & Marketing job sector also hires maximum number of pharmacy graduates. One can also work in retail stores of medicines. After registering with the state Pharmacy Council, you can open chemist/drug shop and sell medicines as per doctors prescription. Job Profile:

There are hundreds of accredited MBA and EMBA programs offered in schools around the globe, but plenty of aspiring students do not know the difference between the two. EMBA simply stands for Executive Master of Business Administration, which is commonly misconstrued to be a superior form of MBA study. In actual fact, the two are pretty much equal in terms of cachet and value on graduation but they are delivered in entirely different ways. Whether students opt for an MBA or an EMBA depends mainly on their current circumstances. EMBA applicants are usually older and possess greater experience. Full-time MBA applicants are often looking for an immediate career change or are seeking broader experience for career advancement - but the differences between them stretch much further than the age and work experience of applicants. EMBAs are catered towards working professionals with extensive work experience generally in the region of 10-15 years. During the selection period, EMBA admissions teams look for a varied professional background and with diverse work experience. It is assumed that applicants will already have extensive business knowledge picked up over their career. Thus they are not usually required to sit entry exams although applicants without Bachelor's degree may require a GMAT score. However, for full-time MBA study, emphasis is very much placed on GMAT scores and essays. A minimum GMAT score of 600 is required in most schools, with top institutions requiring 700 and above. Although more management experience is a definite advantage for MBA study, students are generally only required to have up to three years' work experience. I hope this would suffice.

What it takes to become a Robotics Engineer? If you want to go ahead and take on the career of a Robotic Engineer then your knowledge should be more than average in Science and mathematics. The basic eligibility for being able to apply for B.Tech in Robotics is that students should have passed his/her class 12 examinations with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry and Maths) from a recognised state or national level board of education with a minimum of 50% marks. A Bachelor degree is required in order to pursue Masters degree in Robotics. One must go for M.Tech after earning a Bachelor degree if you want to make a good career in robotics. Regards.
