According to me, it's better to go for Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College.
Reasons:
1. Government college (low fee structure)
2. Good faculty members
3. Good placements.

Hi Naren,
IITs have global recognition so you can go for it, but if the foreign university concerned is MIT, Caltech, etc., then go for this choice. You have to compare them likewise. It depends on which university abroad you have gotten through because as mentioned IITians are allowed everywhere.

The two fields are completely different. The only way you can decide what you like is by doing an elective and see what you like better. Honestly, I think too many people go into anesthesia because they think it's going to be low stress, and later realize it can be very stressful and become very unhappy. I'm sure radiologist, and anesthesiologist, will figure out a way to more money when the cuts come. So, be honest with yourself and do what is most interesting, rewarding, etc.

I would say requires a very creative personality.
Whereas, paramedics have to do their regular activities which do not require any further invention.
Paramedics have a safer career and a constant and continuous growth.

Acceptance of B.Tech graduate from a formal engineering college is much more in comparison to AMIE graduates. If in a job interview or selection process, performance of B.Tech and AMIE graduate is same then B.Tech graduate has more chances to get the job. It may look unfair but it is the reality.

B.Tech from an engineering college provides an access to good teaching faculty and opportunities for good marks in internal assessment, therefore, increasing probability of scoring better marks in comparison to marks you may get in AMIE with similar efforts.

For lateral entry, you can get direct admission in 2nd year but for that you should give a Entrance exam known as JELET. Its Syllabus is same as that of B Tech in 4 years.
