Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, formal parties, concerts, or conventions. It involves studying the brand, identifying the target audience, devising the event concept, planning the logistics and coordinating the technical aspects before actually launching the event.[1]
The process of planning and coordinating the event is usually referred to as event planning and which can include budgeting, scheduling, site selection, acquire necessary permits, coordinate transportation and parking, arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging decor, event security, catering and emergency plans.

The companies mentioned on the website are true. However, I think I should give you a fair amount of information about placements at XIMR. You may notice that some students from the college have been placed at Accenture - these students had some work experience in IT and also had an engineering degree, which helped them get a job there. Last year, we had one person joining Nielsen, one person joining Hindustan Unilever, and a few people joining HDFC. However, one more thing to note is that companies may hire only the best 3-4 candidates (or sometimes only 1 candidate). Also, some companies may not come every year - they may come every alternate year.
XIMR is more of a learning-focused college, meaning that you will have to put in a lot of efforts to develop yourself. You may find that some other colleges are more focused on placements. Rest assured that I am giving you true facts about the college. Let me know if I can help in any more ways.
