Hi Surabhi,
I would say that if you really have interest in Film and T.V. then you should go for Mass Comm. I mentioned Film and T.V. specifically because Mass Comm is a very broad term which includes Film, T.V. shows, Journalism (print or electronic), Advertisement etc. So you have a lot of options to choose as a career after you complete your Mass Comm.
There are many good institute from where you can pursue this course. Few of them are
MICA
IIMC
XIC
Jamia
Amity etc.
But as you are planning to pursue it from Pune. For the list of institutes in Pune you can check the below link

Hope this helps

While preparing for GATE individuals give lesser importance to there B.Tech, thinking that if I will prepare for GATE my B.Tech will eventually be covered. But this is a wrong thought B.Tech will surely help you in GATE but GATE will not help you in your semesters, this is the major mistake which forces aspirants to take steps which are always harmful for them.
Just answer these simple questions and your problem will be solved.
Have ever seen a GATE Topper or a good GATE scorer who has bad performance in his/her B.Tech? Then why you have chosen this path? Are you special?
Ask a GATE Topper, if he/she had compromised with his/her semester

Arun, it can never be that the syllabus of a subject is tough in one institution and easier in another. Yes, the method of teaching or mode of examination can differ and some might feel them to be easy and some might feel them to be tough. So you must concentrate on the subject.
