These channels have different programs on lifestyle, travel, latest trends, geographic locations, scientific innovations etc so it is also important that you pursue a graduation in any field such as geography, travel n tourism, etc so that you have relevant knowledge.
If you are interested in joining Nat Geo or Discovery then you have to do some course in Media. I think the best option for you will be film making, where you can make documentary films and submit it to the channels. For more info, refer to the below link it might help

As you are B.com student and want to pursue journalism, it is possible but as a friend I would suggest you to think over this decision and pursue a course in commerce field itself as switching over will not be feasible and you have to start from scratch.
