one simple question for u - U must have some sort of computer knowledge i know cos now a days computer has taken place of TV at home. If my Hard Disk gone damage should i replace or repair? If Motherboard got damage will it be repaired or replaced? Now a days all these r coming with 3-5 years of warranty. Processor can not be repaired. What other expensive things remain on computer which can be repaired. I think replacement is the best option now a days. For making parts replaced do u think u must have to do the course of 18 months or so and invest around 55-60 thousand on Hardware & Networking course. After that u will get a National level of certificate. Instead of that if u go for any International Certifications like RHCE+CCNA+MCSE+RHCVA in a shorter amount of time and invest ur more time on the field for getting experience. 1) Distance education is for those people who are doing job and want to continue their study or for the people who are economically weak and wanna study for better job aspects.
2) In distance study classes are fixed for course means 55 classes in 6 months etc. .and also remember in University Like IGNOU semesters and results are always late means if they haven't declared the result of previous semester or paper then you have to appear in the same exam again and if you will pass in previous exam then they will add the result of previous exam.
3) Advantage of distance learning is helpful if you are getting a software degree along with a software related job means the field in which you are studying and working have to be same other wise no use of experience of job.
4) They have collaboration with colleges so they take examination as hard as they can means no chance of passing without study or you can pass with low percentage specially in IGNOU.
If you have option of learning in regular collage or option to get a regular degree then that will be better than distance learning .
So i will advise you to do a regular course if you can manage and if you have no option or doing job and wanna do distance study along with your job then do your course from IGNOU or SMU so that your degree will be universally acceptable and you can study without any tension and if decided to study from any other university then at least talk with previous batch student about study and validation of degree.
