1. Yes Distance Education is acceptable but when it comes to B.ed course, schools prefer regular candidates.

As for choosing the best, you can consider parameters such as Faculty, Course Material, Quality Education, Fees, Accreditation, Infrastructure and Placements.
With B.ED, you can apply for jobs in schools and further you can plan to pursue masters in one of your specialized subjects followed by PhD in order to further enhance your teaching career. I would suggest you to opt for the subject in which you possess keen interest and passion.

Since the website reflects that the university is recognized ,we can assume the same about the program. I still suggest that you contact the university office directly.As per the institute's website and I quote, ''The Assam Don Bosco University , a State Private University , Established by 'The Assam Don Bosco University Act' of the Government of Assam (No IX of 2009), passed in the Assam State Legislative Assembly in 2009 , is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC ) of India, as well as the Distance Education Council, India (DEC). ADBU is also recognized and a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities , ACU, UK, giving it International Recognition.''

There are several fields available in different streams ( science , arts , commerce ) , I suggest that before opting for a course , field or change of stream, ask yourself :
1.What is my interest area?
2.What kind of concepts interest me? Creative concepts - Technical concepts - Managerial concepts - Financial concepts
3.What type of job I want to do?
4.Do I want to be an Engineer - Manager - Teacher - Scientist or something else?
Once you have answers to these questions , you should look for options such as:
1.Science
B.Sc in any science subject - IT - Astrophysics - Nautical Science etc.
MBBS (Doctor)
2.Arts
Journalism or Mass Communication -Civil services -BA (honors program in English, Economics etc.) , Advertising, Humanities, Social Sciences, BBA , MBA etc
3.Commerce
B.Com or Bachelors in Commerce is the basic graduation in commerce , BA (honors in Maths , Statistics ) or for a career in Finance and Accounting you can pursue CA, CS , ICWA , MBA Finance etc.
4.Engineering or B.Tech in various streams is also an option after 10+2 for a career in Engineering.
