Hello sreya,The National Eligibility Test (NET) is the national level entrance examination in India for postgraduate candidates who wish to qualify for admission in PhD research and/or university level teaching jobs in India. For the humanities and art discipline it is administered by the University Grants Commission (referred to as "UGC NET"), while for the science and engineering discipline it is jointly conducted by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission ("CSIR-UGC" NET).
This exam will be conducted for the award of junior Research Fellowship(JRF) and also for eligibility into Lectureship.this exam conducted twice in a year
i.e June & December
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The candidate should have a citizen of india.
The candidate should complete the graduation from any recognized university.
One should have to score a minimum of 55% of marks in their post graduation course in order to be eligible for this exam.
Relaxation is there in percent of marks upto 5% for tech candidates of sc/st category.
AGE LIMIT:
There is no upper age limit for the candidate lectureship.
But for JRF candidates the age limit between 19 to 28 years.
There will be a total of three papers wherein Paper-I will gauge candidates on their Teaching and Research Aptitude while paper-II and Paper-III will be based on subject opted by the applicants.

* NET Old Question Papers are Valuable: The old questions are hardly repeated exactly in the same format.
* test series will provide you good quality of questionnaire which will be crucial for your entire preparation.
Paper-1 is objective type consisting of Part (A) general nature and part (B) is subject type however, second paper requires short descriptive answers to questions. It is very important to qualify in the first paper otherwise second papers’ answer booklet will not be checked.
