N.I.O.S (National Institute of Open Schooling) which is recognised by the Central Government is equivallent to any other board of education.
Also indivuduals from NIOS are definitely eligible to write any entrance exam and opt for their field of interest. So, you can proceed further with History Honors as per your interest.

- There are various degree, diploma, certificate courses available in interior designing. You may choose and join the course based on your interest, time availability and long term career goal.

Since you have a relevant MS in Software Engineering degree, you can proceed with U.G.C NET.
Qualifying Examination:
The candidates those who have completed their post graduation in related subjects can appear for the exam. Those who have acquired post graduation from any recognized university are eligible for applying UGC-NET exam. The candidate must have a minimum of 55%.
Age Qualification:
The candidates appearing for JRF should not be above 28 years of age. The candidates appearing only for lectureship have no upper age limit. Age relaxation of 5 years will be given to SC/ST/OBC or physically disabled or women or visually handicappe
