Yes, you are allowed to use a calculator in the CAT exam. However, you can not carry your physical calculators. Instead, there will be an online on-screen calculator provided by them. You are allowed to use it. This on-screen calculator only has some of the basic functions, such as division and a square root button. As a result, according to top scorers, you can't rely on that calculator much. You should practice solving questions with short cuts. Also, to develop speed in calculations, you should practice lots of sectional and full-length mock tests.

No, the CAT (Common Admission Test) is not compulsory for admission to MBA programs at all universities. While it is a key entrance exam for many prestigious management institutions like the IIMs (Indian Institutes of Management), there are numerous other universities, including LPU, that offer alternative pathways for MBA admission. LPU conducts its entrance exam, the LPUNEST, for MBA admissions, which students can take in place of CAT to secure a seat. Additionally, LPU also accepts other national-level exams like MAT, CMAT, and XAT for MBA admission, allowing flexibility for applicants.
