Earning a certificate is not mandatory if you already have that subject in your curriculum, and you are free to mention those subject in your resume.
But if you posses a certificate from a global certification center or a well known National Institute then the value of your resume increases and the probability of getting job also increases.
you can call it as a addon to your resume.
