Your question is not very clear. News Reading implies a career in Journalism while Programming course means a career in IT industry. Both are very different.
I would say that one of the best approaches while deciding on your subjects/ stream is to opt for or look at doing something that you are good at and would enjoy keeping in mind your personality, aptitude, ability, strengths and career goals.
My personal suggestion is that you complete your senior secondary education through National institute of Open Schooling and then proceed with higher education.
