NCFM are the certified modules offered by NSE but for those who are keen to pursue a career in Financial markets. As an IT graduate, although there is less relevance between your background and your preference, however there is no constraint under which you can not opt for these modules.
If you are looking out for transition in your career, then this seems as a good career option. However, with already 6 years experience, I think you can look for the course like a MBA program or a further Masters degree depending on the degree you had in your graduate studies.
