Game designing and graphic design are not the same, but they are related fields that often work together in the game development process. Game designing involves the creation and development of game concepts, mechanics, levels, and overall game structure. It also involves creating and balancing game rules, objectives, and challenges to provide players with an enjoyable experience. Game designers work with game developers, artists, and programmers to bring their ideas to life. Graphic design, on the other hand, involves the creation of visual content to communicate information or ideas to a target audience. This includes the design of logos, posters, packaging, and websites, among other things. Graphic designers often use software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to create their designs. While game designers may not necessarily have the same level of expertise in graphic design as a dedicated graphic designer, they do need to have a strong sense of visual design and a good understanding of how graphics and visual elements impact the gameplay experience. Many game designers work closely with graphic designers to ensure that the visual elements of their games support the overall game design. If you're interested in becoming a game designer, it's important to develop a strong foundation in game design principles, as well as an understanding of graphic design principles. This can involve taking courses in game design and graphic design, as well as practicing and honing your skills through personal projects or game design competitions.

UI design stands for User Interface design, which is the visual or graphical side of design. Some UX designers will also do some UI, but other UX designers will only go as far as research and wire frames. Web design tends to be less iterative, whereas UX design is about integrating continuous improvements. UX design stands for User Experience design and tends to be the invisible or behind the scenes side of design. Its all the work that goes into creating an app, website, software, or service. UX design includes design and user research, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing, and content strategy. Web designers may be graphic designers who work on the web or developers who have built enough skills to create a good looking website or app. Web designers tend not to take the human-centered approach of UX design. Psychology is embedded in UX design to help understand how people think, and what motivates them. Most web designers don't go as deep to consider all the factors that a UX designer keeps in mind. Web design tends to be less iterative, whereas UX design is about integrating continuous improvements.

There are multiple design colleges in India and abroad. Based on your financial strength, you can chose either of it. Studying abroad definitely gives you an exposure of global design spectrum with on-hands experience of being mentored by industries leading professionals and designers. However, it is suggestive to pursue Masters from abroad since by then it will give you a clear road map of what specific specialization you want to explore further. India has some great colleges too for undergrad courses in Graphic Design. Some of those are: NID (Ahmedabad), MIT (Pune), NIFT (Mumbai & Delhi), Pearl Academy (Delhi), Shrishti Institute (Bangalore), SID (Pune), ISDI (Mumbai), DJ Academy of Design (Coimbatore), IDC (Mumbai, only Masters). Situation Test has 20% weightage, and is an important deciding factor, in your admission. Situation Test is for the students who have applied for Bachelor of Design Programme are called for Situation Test after clearing their written test. In situation test student is required to create a three dimensional model with various materials provided; based on a specific topic or theme mentioned. The students is provided with materials like, ice cream sticks, mount board, color papers, straws, thread etc. They are given three hours to make a three dimensional model. The model is evaluated on space visualization, innovative and creative use of given material, composition of elements, color scheme, construction skill, finesse of the model and overall presentation etc. These parameters will be checked with the write up explaining the concept behind the model constructed. And the candidates are assessed for their Quality of Material Manipulation, Innovative Ideas, Aesthetic Appeal, Neatness, Conceptualization Skills and Working Methodology.
