I feel both these universities have good reputation. I would therefore like to advise you that please select the good guide out of these two. Once you do this, your half the troubles are over. Then it's only a matter of time before you can complete your research work and will be on the way to get your coveted degree.

If you really know writing and the skills of storytelling then, there is no need to have a degree in mass communication. Even now there are a number of stringers who are working for news channels and newspapers but they don't have any degree. That doesn't mean they are not reporters. They are doing well and the organisations are paying well as like other ones. But some organisations have a procedure for appointment of reporter. Yes, of course like in other MNC's or company, media industries too have several departments with a proper segment. If you have a business, commerce related background you can be a part of their B2B teams, if you have IT related background you can be a part of their technical or IT sectors. So, there are opportunities. But please focus if you are willing to be news anchor, reader, journalist, editor etc. Than these are course specific.
