Hi Nikhil,
There are a couple of entrance exams, which you can prepare to get into a b-school, like CAT, SNAP, XAT, NMAT, IIFT, CMAT, CET or MAT. You can prepare for them by yourself, if you are confident enough or take help of any coaching institute which prepares for MBA.

You cannot avoid appearing in entrance examinations as most of private universities also conduct engineering entrance examinations for admission in their engineering programs. Few private engineering universities allows admission based on class 12th performance e.g. BITS - Pilani gives direct admission to toppers of different boards.

It totally depend upon the interest of a student. If your brother's interest is in designing. So yes, he can go for designing course. As he is from mechanical background, he should go for product designing or interior design. It is an advice, don't go for fashion or textile design course as tool and making course and fashion and textile design course are almost opposite.

You can take IELTS and apply. Academically, you must be strong. GRE is not required by European Universities. You can check the university websites and see the requirements, they may differ slightly.
