Learning a software hardly take between 15-45 days each. The real effort is to create design. That takes a long time and effort. Become a designer and then the software would be useful. For example learning typography teaches you how to use fonts in design. Learning picture composition teaches you to balance the picture and use form correctly. Learning color and shade teaches you to draw attention to or away from objects/ artifacts in the picture. Wish you the best for your career. Harpinder, There are several careers in media in writing, production or post production. you can become a reporter, actor or getting behind the camera to direct, cinematography or do finishing work as an editor, compositor or a VFX artist who can add reality to 3D visualizations. you may even be a graphic artist who designs the screens, or an animator who brings stories to life as a proxy actor for onscreen characters. you can get into production, whether live or animated. You can be a story writer who writes for live and animated screens or even roll the story into a video/ pc game. you can be a script writer who would stop at nothing to give wonderful scene setups to bring the story to life. you could be an artist who designs characters or who storyboards the film for live or animated performance. you can also double up as a voice over artist who gives his/ her voice to the characters or dub for movie stars, or even be a radio star. you can alternatively look at web for a web of careers in web design, online marketing, search engine optimization, content writing, social media promoting. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world & hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. Study options after BDS include Dental Hygiene, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontics, Pediatric Dentistry to name a few. You can either pursue a Graduate Diploma programme or Master degree programme on the basis of your academic background and interest.
University of Manitoba, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia and University of Western Ontario are some of the top choices.
