APSET 2018 eligibility criteria which aspirants need to fulfil in order to be eligible to appear for the entrance exam is as mentioned below:
Candidates should have secured a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master's degree or equivalent exam from any university/college that is recognised by UGC. Aspirants belonging to reserved categories such as OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD are eligible to apply if they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in their Master's degree or equivalent exam. Aspirants who are appearing for their Master's degree final year exam and whose exam result is awaited can also apply for APSET exam. But such aspirants will be offered provisional admission and they need to submit their exam result details at the time of admission. Candidates who possess a Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Master's level examination by September 19, 1991 (irrespective of date when the result is declared) will be eligible for 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (that is, from 55% to 50%) for appearing in APSET exam. The official website informs that, Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates, whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of subjects may appear in a related subject. You must complete class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50 percent marks in maths and physics. You must be of at least 16 years of age to be eligible for a Student Pilot License, 17 for a Private Pilot License, and 18 for a Commercial Pilot License. Alternatively, you could directly enrol for the Private Pilot License once you have cleared class XII and are 17 years old. This involves taking an exam conducted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation* consisting of theory papers on air navigation, aviation meteorology, air regulation and technical aspects. Your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6. General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function. You need to complete the requisite number of hours, clear written papers and the medical examination. You need 70 percent marks to pass in each of these papers. You will be eligible to take up journalism in any recognised university only if you have 55% in your 12th exam (any stream). Students who have cleared the board exam with English as one of the best four subjects, can apply for this course. After 12th, one can take up B.A. In Journalism and Mass Communication. Some colleges offer this course on the basis of the 12th board exam result. But, a few colleges do conduct entrance tests for this. Delhi University carries out a Common Entrance Test for Journalism (CETJ) for the Bachelors course. At Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication, there are two rounds of interview. The first round is Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) which includes objective questions. The second round consists of writing ability test as well as personal interaction. A few colleges like Amrita University conduct only a personal interview. SRM University takes in students for B.A. Journalism on the basis of their 12th marks. Bachelors in Journalism and Mass Communication is usually a three years course.
