B.Sc Biotechnology course is a 3 years long course. Biotechnology is a combination of two subjects- Biology and Technology. Hence this is combination of Biology and Engineering and aims at putting concepts of both these subjects together. The eligibility criteria for this course is 12th with PCB/PCM. Many private businesses are exploring this field and heavily investing in it. Most of the job opportunities for Biotechnology graduates in private sector. Government sector too offers job opportunities, but not in the scale in which private sector does. Few prominent industries where Biotechnology professionals may find jobs are- Pharmaceuticals Industry, Healthcare sector, Chemical Industry and Research sector. Bachelor of Pharmacy B.Pharma is an undergraduate degree course of 4 years of duration in the field of Pharmacy education. The students who are interested in the medical field (Medicines) can choose this course after the completion of class 12th (PCM/B). After the completion of this degree, the students can practice as a Pharmacist. Pharmacists can work in a range of industries related to the prescription, manufacture & provision of medicines. B.Pharma is a job oriented course, hence I would like to go with this.

There are plenty of options which you may explore like Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Cost Accountancy (from ICWA), Company Secretary ship (CS), Stock Broking. Company Secretary acts as the mediator between the company and its board of directors, government, shareholders and regulatory authorities. The responsibilities of a CS are to ensure that the board procedures are strictly followed and regularly revised; to guide the Chairman and the Directors on how to make the best use of their responsibilities under various laws. Opportunities for cost accountants are in the private corporate sector, public sector to advise the government in cost pricing and in framing the appropriate fiscal and tax policies. A CFA is trained in financial/investment management and management accounting. The Reserve Bank of India, the International Development Bank of India (IDBI), the Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) and the Indian Railways recognize the CFA program and employ CFAs. Stock Brokers work in stock exchanges which are like market places where stockbrokers buy and sell securities for individuals or institutions.CS, ICWA and CFA are certifications you can get by ICSI (www.icsi.edu), ICWAI (www.icwai.org) and ICFAI (www.icfai.org) respectively. You may also explore banking jobs. Openings are available at various levels, from Bank Clerical to Probationary Officers. Opportunities include in nationalized banks and private banks.
