The eligibility to appear for NET is that the candidate needs to have secured, at least 55% marks (without grace or rounding off) in Masters Degree (or) equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc. Although there is no criterion which says that correspondence student would not be eligible, it is always better to go for a regular degree to be on safer side. If you want to do a program through correspondence see that the degree is recognized through UGC.
