Applying to a course will be easier after you obtain the PR. You will follow criteria required by the PR or citizens and not international students. So, you need to wait till you enter Canada. Also, criteria will differ from college to college. So, I will advice you to contact the colleges before hand.

After your Master degree in particular domain through regular mode, the only thing that matters is your knowledge communication skills, IQ level and understanding towards new thing in the professional life.
It only matters how you utilise your time while your Bachelor degree through distance mode whether you obtained professional experience or you did extra certification which would help you in the future.

To qualify in NIT, a student should have 75% in class 12th for general students and for SC/ST/OBC should have 65% in class 12th with subject of (physics, chemistry, mathematics and English).
