There is no short cut to reach such high positions so you need to have very focused approach towards your goal should be a person with lots of patience and perseverance. Apart from this you need to have strong Educational background which should include an MBA from a good B-School like IIMs, FMS, etc. also try and work on your soft skills like communication & networking skills, language skills etc.

A Bachelors degree in Journalism is very rare and very few institutes offer this. Rather I would suggest you to go for a Bachelors in English Hons., Pol. Science, etc. and then you can pursue your masters in Journalism.
Journalism as a career is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work and patience.To become a good journalist you need to have a good command over Hindi, English or your regional language. See, if you want to do M.TECH., then the story does not end with the GATE disqualification. You can do the Masters from the private institution as well. If you reside in Haryana, then Mullana is a good option for you.
