If you are looking for Scholarships outside the University, yes there are scholarships available for bright students, but these scholarships mostly are there to pursue higher studies & for research work. Few of the scholarships which you may apply to are:
Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Energizing Success
Iisc Young Engineering Fellowship Programme
Institute Merit Scholarship (MHRD)
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (MHRD)
Merit cum Means Scholarship (with freeship) MHRD
These Scholarships are for students pursuing Engineering programs. However, you need to check the eligibility criteria for these scholarships as it may vary.
There are several others but for research based studies or for higher studies.

These are the German Universities which are highly popular among the Indian students and :- RWTH Aachen , University of Duisburg-Essen , Technical University of Berlin / Munich , University of Stuttgart , Technical University Dresden.
In Germany Almost all higher education institutions are funded by Federal and State Legislations. German and international students who study in Germany are not charged tuition fees. However, there are some private institutions of higher education and some state institutions offering courses for which fees are charged which is very nominal. As far as expenses are concern You will require around 650 euro approx INR 35,000-40,000 per month,This amount covers housing ,food ,clothing ,study material and other expenses such as health insurance and leisure activities. Hi Anjani,
I would suggest you to go for next year as CAT scores are valid for one year and if you sit for November 2010 CAT by the time you appear for your final exam there admissions would get over as the CAT result would be out by January 2011 after which GD & PI sessions would start, maximum by April all the procedures would be over and by June or July the session will start and I dont think if your Examinations would be held in march you would get the result before July - August.

GATE, ii based on the subject we learned during graduation (BE or B.Tech). GATE exam helps in getting admission in M.Tech (master of Technology degree) in Indian universities.
