I am not from M.K. Gupta Tax Classes but I am Chartered Accountant.
80G is a deduction from GTI Under Income Tax Act, 1961, for donation given through mode other than cash or kind.
There are 4 types of deduction available depending upon the donation given to prescribed institutions:
1. 100% deduction
2. 50% deduction
3. 100% of Qualifying Amount i.e. donation subject to 10% of Adjusted Gross total Income
4. 50% of Qualifying Amount i.e. donation 10% of Adjusted gross total income.
Adjusted GTI is
(GTI - LTCG - STCG of Sec 111A- Deduction u/s 80C to 80U)
