Becoming familiar with what living off campus entails is the best way to help ensure a successful housing search and rental experience, and OCCSL has several resources available for you to use!

First-year and sophomore students are required to live on campus. Junior students must seek permission to live off campus during the fall semester of their sophomore year. Seniors have permission to live off campus but are encouraged to connect with the Assistant Director for Off Campus and Commuter Student Life to make sure they're best equipped and supported in this decision.

The university’s residence halls are centrally located, near the libraries and dining halls. The campus is particularly walkable, so students do not need a vehicle to get to class. All the residence halls are located near each other, making socializing convenient. 

At this university 60% of the students live in college-owned, -operated or -affiliated housing and 40% of students live off.Off Campus Student Life (OCSL), through the Office of Residence Life, provides support through a variety of programs and services that are designed to meet the specific needs of students who live off-campus.

University of Scranton Tuition & Financial Aid

University of Scranton's tuition is $52,034. Compared with the national average cost of tuition of $43,477, University of Scranton is more expensive.

Hi.Deadlines to submit applications for indian students at University of Scranton: International Freshman Applicantsplus or minus

November 15: Early Action Deadline - Early Action is a non-binding programme for students who have a strong desire to attend The University of Scranton. We will mail Early Action admission decisions on December 15.

December 15: Regular Decision Application Review Begins - Regular Decision applications will be reviewed after Early Action candidates have been notified. Once the completed application is received, it can take four to six weeks to process. Applicants will be notified on a rolling basis after December 15.

May 1: National Candidates’ Reply Date  - Admitted applicants must reserve their place in the fall class by this date. This is accomplished by submitting a deposit online through your status page; instructions are included in your acceptance packet.

Scholarships and Grants are forms of assistance that do not have to be repaid to the agency or benefactor giving the award. At The University of Scranton, scholarships and grants can be awarded to a student in a variety of ways through a variety of sources.

Scholarships and Grants that could appear on your Financial Aid Notice may come from institutional (merit or need-based), federal, state or outside sources.

Merit-Based Scholarships

A separate application is not required. - All accepted applicants are automatically evaluated for merit aid based on the completed Admissions application. Scholarship recipients will be notified in their acceptance letters.

Presidential Scholarship - Full-tuition

Dean's Scholarship - $27,500 average award.

Loyola Scholarship - $25,000 average award.

Faber Scholarship - $22,500 average award.

The University of Scranton hosts a significant number of international students. The total student body population is approximately 4,700 students, including 152 international students from 21 countries. The university hosts approximately 150 international students and scholars from about 20 different countries. Additionally, the university is home to over 100 international students from 15 countries enrolled in a full-time degree program, with an additional 7 countries represented by exchange students. The University of Scranton offers many employment opportunities for students, including part-time jobs. The university posts open positions on their website, which are viewable by both internal and external inquiries. Students can also apply for jobs in the university's dining services and bookstore, which are operated by separate vendors, Aramark and Follett, respectively.
