Yes, there are quite a few exams for Design entrance apart from NIFT and UCEED. You can apply for the following colleges also:1 - NID (National Institute of Design)
2 - NIIFT
3 - PEARL ACADEMY
4 - UID (United world institute of Design)
5 - IID (Indian institute of art and Design)
6 - WSD (World school of Design)
7 - TDV (The design village)
8 - Arch Academy of Design
9 - Chitkara University
10 - FDDI
But, I will suggest you to go for NIFT, IIT or NID only. These are the top government colleges for Design and their market value is much better than the other colleges. They provide excellent quality education and knowledge. You will easily get a good job opportunity after completing your graduation from these colleges. They have a record of 100% placements and a starting package of at least three Lacs per annum. I am not sure about the other colleges.

All candidates who qualify for B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) degree courses have to submit a Physical Fitness Certificate from Registered Medical Practitioner. The candidate must be physically fit and should meet the medical requirements as specified by DGS guidelines. Candidates with Disability (DA) are not eligible for admission to all marine and related courses. Failure to meet the medical standards would disqualify a candidate for admission. In case of an appeal, the same will be referred to a medical board appointed by the Indian Maritime University. The decision of such medical board shall be final.
Eye Sight:
There should not be any degree of squint or any morbid condition of eyes or of the eyelids that is liable to aggravate or recur, pressure of trachoma and iris complication sequel. Candidates must possess good binocular vision (Fusion faculty and a full field of vision in both eyes). Movement of the eyeballs must be full in all directions and the pupils should react normally to light and accommodation.
In case of candidates joining B.Tech. (Marine Engineering) degree course, distance vision (unaided 0.5 (6/12) in each eye or 0.67 (6/9) in better eye and 0.33 (6/18) in another eye. Normal color vision shall be tested by Ishihara test chart.

Been a faculty at LPU let me share the admission criteria as I am not aware about IIHM. Student have to Pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent, a further 5% relaxation is given to North East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants). Let me share few points about Hotel Management programme at LPU :
