The admission to MBA programs offered by various colleges and universities in India is a competitive process, and the selection criteria for admission may vary from one institute to another. However, with a score of 66 in CMAT and 75% in graduation, you can apply to many MBA colleges in India.
Your CMAT score of 66 percentile is a good score, but it may not be sufficient to get admission to some of the top-tier MBA programs. However, there are many good MBA programs offered by reputed colleges and universities where you can apply with your CMAT score and graduation percentage.
Apart from CMAT score and graduation percentage, other factors such as work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in the selection process (group discussion, personal interview, etc.) are also taken into consideration while evaluating a candidate's profile.
To increase your chances of getting admission to the MBA program of your choice, you can also consider taking other management entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, SNAP, MAT, etc. and aiming for a higher score.
I would suggest that you research and shortlist the MBA programs and colleges that you are interested in, and check their admission criteria and process. No. Its no at all compulsory. But if you are thinking to do Masters in India, then GATE. Is the best. Even if you spend a year in preparation, no problem, go for GATE. With out GATE.
1. Career aspect: First thing you can't get into well reputed institutes like IITs, NITs, and some government colleges. When you done with you are M.Tech, the college from where you have done your Masters is very important. It matters a lot in initial stages of your career. Most of the private colleges in India for name sake they are providing M.Tech degrees, but they don't have required lab facilities and well qualified faculty too, so what is the use obtaining degree from such universities?
2. Financial aspect:You have take care all financial needs by yourself. If you have cleared GATE. You will be getting stipend of 12400 pm, that too in government institutes you will have very less fees. Do you know? IIT Kharagpur tuition fee is 5k per semester, including everything ie food+Hostel+internet+medical etc. It comes out 33k per semester. You won't get such low fees in anywhere in India. Actually any GATE. Qualified, if he takes admission through GATE. In any AICTE approved colleges should stipend of 12400 pm, but it never happened in reality. You know its all government, no need to explain our system.

Try to cover the easy & important topics only. Later you may go with moderate ones. Solve the relevant questions along with topics. Revise on a daily basis. Assign a time to topics as per their importance. Do not neglect UGC NET paper 1 , it is more scoring and the biggest reason for most of students' failure as they take it for granted. Practice a lot of questions from every topic and no need to get distracted using multiple sources, even one source would suffice. The best way to revise the concepts is by solving previous year question papers & mock test papers. Solve previous year question papers and mock test papers. Be positive.

If you are willing to prepare for UGC NET Political Science, keep the following point in mind. The syllabus is vast so making priority is important. Cover the easier topics with good marking weightage first. Refer UGC NET previous year question paper http://bit.ly/2OAzePF for the topics which are too difficult to handle, take out the specific sections from which questions are asked. For concepts, make short notes or maintain a flow chart for every chapter. Practice a lot of questions, make sure to solve the questions given at the end of the chapters. Appear for mock test papers such as a finish touch to the preparation. Do not skip previous year test papers.
