If your question is what to go for after B.Tech in IIT, then you can either choose to opt for a job or M.Tech from a good college (IIT if possible) or MBA (IIM if possible). While an MBA prepares you for generalist roles and opens your avenues in non-technical industries, an M.Tech qualification offers you plush jobs and a freedom to take your love for technology to the next level. While both these career options are stable and rewarding, current trends indicate that students prefer MBA over M.Tech. Besides opening various employment avenues across industries, an MBA degree gives students a chance to build a promising foundation for their career. The difficulty level and rigour associated with an M.Tech degree also adds to the popularity of MBA in the student community.
After M.Tech or MBA, if you wish, you can go into the research field as well (Ph.D).

Joint entrance examinations (JEE) is commonly associated with the engineering entrance examination conducted by IITs for admission in B.Tech. But JEE score is not used by the majority of marine engineering colleges.
The Indian Maritime University, Chennai conducts all India online common entrance test known as Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission in B.Sc in nautical science and B.Tech in marine engineering. It is a central university founded by the Ministry of Shipping and Transportation, Government of India. The majority of Indian merchant navy training institutes and colleges are affiliated to IMU. You are advised to appear for CET to do B.Tech in marine engineering and join merchant navy as an officer.

One of the main aspects that would help you to prepare for the exam is to develop a habit of maintaining notes related to current affairs. The static general knowledge requires relevant material in history, geography, economics and general science, and a proper understanding of basic legal concepts and legal reasoning along with basic and advanced concepts of analytical and critical reasoning. Quantitative aptitudes consisting of class X level concepts are required. All the mentioned sections should be practiced keeping in mind the time constraints. The CLAT exam does not have any structured syllabus to adhere to, which makes it more challenging.
