The eligibility criteria for Ph.D varies for every institute. However the basic requirement is a masters degree or an equivalent degree in the relevant discipline.

Hi Kani,after attempting your exam register yourself with ICAI for CPT exam.It is held twice in a year-June and December.You have to study the following 4 subjects in CPT
FUNDAMENTALS OF ACCOUNTING
MERCANTILE LAW
GENERAL ECONOMICS
QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE-which comprise of maths and statistics
It is a purely objective exam.But it is being heard that one paper is going to be added and the exams are going to be descriptive.As you have selected your career go for accounting classes now itself because lot of science students are facing problem with accountancy
