Hi Anurag,
First of all understand the requirement of these professional councils. They are there for promotion of professional institutions and providing grants to various institutions. They look after the integrated development of education and maintain educational standards. So, what is important is that the Institute should be recognized by one of these organizations not all. As Chitkara University is recognized by UGC it doesn't need AICTE recognition.
As far as Government jobs are concerned in most of the government jobs they look for UGC recognition.
Hope this resolves your query. Feel free to put up more queries In case your quer

Hi Gazal,
I am not disagreed with both Gomtis Corner and Suryap but just want to inform that as per the new instructions of ugc, phd through distance education is not available now. Yet, you can do it part time, but u have to mark ur attendence. it is different that some centers are offering phd, which will be considered as regular but you will have no need to go to attend the class.

Hi Zoya,
Different programmes will have different admission procedure, few will have Entrance Examination and few will have direct admissions, so depending on the course you opt for the scenario will change. However, for the courses which have direct admission you need to apply on the basis of the cutoffs published by the University. (in your case it would be a direct admission based on cut off). You can apply to a particular college only if you meet the cutoff.

Hi Gazal,
Although there are several Universities giving PhD through Distance Education or correspondence but it has a very low market value. Few of the Distance Institutes providing PhD are: Annamalai University, Dr. BR Ambedkar Open University, IGNOU, International Institute of Information Technology, IISc, Karnataka State Open University, Kota Open University, Netaji Subhas Open University, and Pondicherry University etc.
Generally the open Universities does have centers all over India, but to give a concrete list based on one specific area like Punjab would be difficult so, you need to check with the Universities directly.
Hope this r
