There are many publications that come up with rankings of engineering colleges and other colleges, rating a few colleges as best ranked colleges. However, many a times not all colleges take part and the ranking are based on high level of objectivity and loose subjectivity? The difference as the name suggests is in the mode of study, while regular courses are classroom session courses where the student has to attend classes; distance/ correspondence courses are more about self-study where the study material is sent to the student and s/he has to understand and learn it on their own. The prospects of a full-time regular management course are better than a correspondence or distance learning course.

Be your priority with CSE then IT, ECE, EEE and MEC. Mechanical is more wider branch now a days and frankly many options and you don't need a high study load. Still, if you can study and dedicate more hours, then opt for CSE.
