Abhinandan, chemical engineering is not a much sought after subject as of now. It was earlier but in the storm of IT & CS fields it has gone out of site for most of the students. So it is good that you have decided to go for chemical engineering while in XIIth. See IIT's are still the best. You also must try for UDCT, Mumbai ( its name is now changed). It is diffucult to pin-point or give a range of the marks for the next common exam (of year 2012). What you need to do is to forget about the target of marks and try to score as much as possible, and it do your cause tons of good if you can get 70% marks. What is more important is to apply in all those colleges which teach chemical engg. Most students fail to make thier institution choices clear. So you don't make this mistake.

American universities do not award or recognize the MBBS.
In the US medical studies are only done at the graduate level. Undergraduate students complete BS degrees in chemistry, biochemsitry, biology or other science related fields, then take a difficult examination, the MCAT, and apply for admission to Medical schools that require four years of graduate study and award the MD or DO degree. Admission to med school is very competitive - you must have a 3.6 / 4.0 or better average in a series of difficult science courses to be admitted. Also, there are very few scholarships for medical students, so most students must pay the fees, which can be $50,000 USD per year or more for each of the four years.
