There is no gender bias for admissions to any branch of engineering. Normally girls do seem to prefer Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering etc. With the exception of a few , many girls do not seem to prefer Mechanical Engineering owing to the extent of physical activity involved. from carpentry to lathe machines and advanced. Some girls do not prefer instrumentation, chemical engineering and related branches since instrumentation candidates normally find placement in process control industries, oil and chemical plants where they may have to work in shifts, though night shifts are safely happening in hospitals. But the choice of a career is entirely up to you. One can upon the completion of the course prefer to become a researcher or academician than a plant engineer The choice of a branch shall hence depend on your interest in the area and your aptitude. It is up to you to choose or not to choose a career track than merely succumb to different opinions.

MCA is offered by number of universities in India.
Candidates usually gets admission by qualifying entrance examination conducted either by the universities or by the Directorate of Technical Education of India.
In order to be eligible for most of the Universities, one must have qualified Bachelors Degree program and have studied Mathematics either in the Higher Secondary level or in the Bachelors level.
The Board from which the candidate has passed the Higher Secondary level of examination as well as the University which awarded the degree must be recognized by the government of India.
Now, as far as percentage of marks is concerned, it varies from Institute to Institute but candidates who have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the Higher Secondary level and a minimum of 50-55% marks in Bachelors degree program makes him'her eligible for most of the Institutes offering the course.
Fee also differs from Institute to Institute. May be min. of 1.5 lac.
As you are BCom graduate without maths, it affects your career in programming field. But you have done web designing & software testing that don't require much part of Maths. So, if have interest in this area you can surely go for it.

Ashish, At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. There are many careers for the creative/ artistic people. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills and knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers.
