Well there are plenty of things you can do after studying English Literature. Careers in publishing require people with backgrounds in English Literature very often. You can go into the fields of journalism, writing and translation. Script writing, novel writing, play writing if you have a creative flair and an interest in writing. Education teaching, primary and secondary school children as well as professorship are also options after doing a Bed. Or MPhil.
You can even find jobs in the government sector as well like Civil Service, Decoders, Insurance, Law schools, Library, Teachers, etc. Jobs like, Linguists,Tourist guides, Translator is also applicable.
You could even learn a foreign language and aim for an interpreter's job in the consulates and embassies. Some of the choices in this regard are French, Spanish, German, Russian, Japanese or Chinese.
Also you may opt for jobs as proofreaders, Copy Editors, Copy writers and writer in the marketing department (e.g. writing pamphlets or brochures for social service firms like PETA) etc.

Eligibility
FOSTIIMA's two years full time PGPM program is designed for those who have completed their graduation or its equivalent degree in any discipline recognized by the UGC. Graduate Students who fulfill the aforementioned criteria are eligible for Post Graduate Studies. Individuals appearing for their final year Degree examination can also apply.
Admission Process & Cut-offs
Admissions for FOSTIIMA's two years full time PGPM Program (commencing in the month of July every year) are carried out through a structured process which takes into account the applicant's academic performance in graduation and school level, CAT / XAT / MAT Score and performance in Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Whereas the short-listing and selection is a weighted average of the applicant's overall performance, cut-off levels for 2010 admission calls are likely to be 50% marks in graduation and a CAT or XAT score of 80 percentile.
