The course fee starts approximately at Rs. 30,000 and goes all the way up to Rs. 3 lakhs based on the type of module as well as the certifying institutions credibility. People opting for a career in dietetics and nutrition should study home science or dietetics and nutrition, food science/technology courses at the graduate and postgraduate levels. Besides a B.Sc in Nutrition & Dietetics, other preferable fields of graduation are home science, food science and technology, medicine, hotel management or catering technology. The three-year B.Sc Home Science courses cover subjects including food and nutrition. Several universities or colleges offer B.Sc and M.Sc courses in Home Science. Four-year food technology courses after HSC in the science stream are also available in a few colleges and institutions.

As per NCTE norms, regular teachers working in primary, middle, secondary or higher secondary schools in Tamilnadu, recognized by State / Central government, with a minimum of two years teaching experience are only eligible for admission into Annamalai University Distance Education B.Ed course.
