In case, you don't get your desired college, don't settle for something mediocre. Instead of settling down for some mediocre college, it would be better if you try for some good private university. Many reputed private universities are offering B.Tech Biotech. They have different criteria for admissions. Some offer admission on the basis of JEE scores, some offer admission on basis of their own tests and some offer admission on the basis of both. Some even offer direct admission on basis of class 12th marks. Some of the universities also offer scholarships on basis of your performance in class 12th or JEE or their own tests. You can check the details of any of the reputed universities like VIT, Lovely, SRM, etc. All these universities have a wonderful infrastructure and world-class facilities to offer to students apart from good placements. There are different criteria for getting scholarships for a BE student. The major aspects for new admission are as follows:
Board Toppers:
Students who have secured top three positions (first, second and third position) in 12th standard in their respective boards (General Secondary Education Certificate Exam of Ministry of Education, UAE or CBSE-India or any other State, National or International Board) are given a merit scholarship of 100%, 75% and 50% of the first semester tuition fee respectively for the first semester.
Merit in the qualifying examination:
a. Students who have obtained 90% or above in the aggregate of the aualifying examination are given a merit scholarship of 20% of the first semester tuition fee. BE students who have obtained 80% or above but less than 90% in the aggregate of the qualifying examination are given merit scholarships of 15% of the first-semester tuition fee.
