It must be a rule for. You that you be very open and dedicated to learning any engineering. Indian Space and Research Organisation is not just concerns with Physics. The machines, Research shall surely need engineering and that too in Core Engineering subjects. Mechanical is one of them. Please see if you can do Electronics and Communication, or Mechanical Engineering and learn as much as possible. Focus on Your Research Competence and try for Jobs that are released by ISRO.

There are universities like IGNOU, SMU, LPU & ICFAI, and Various IITs University whose degree got recognition abroad.
It also depends upon your board/university. There are thousands of fake boards/universities out there, who are just printing and selling the certificates/Diploma/degrees like newspapers in India.
