First check if you're suited for Animation. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this. Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Sanjay.MIT does not offer any MTech course. But they offer postgraduate courses in many areas in engineering including mechanical. To be eligible to apply, normally you must be a top ranking graduate from an institution like IIT. A very high TOEFL and GRE score (i.e., in the top 1%). Also, MIT expects postgraduate applicants to prove that they have the potential to do research work alongwith PhD students. This is important as it is a research based intitution. The total cost of a postgraduate course in MIT could come to around US$ 100,000 (inc living expenses). The bottom line is that MIT is very very selective and very expensive. You should go to the university website to check if there are any scholarships available. But these scholarships, in my opinion, may not cover the full fees. With 80% aggregate you should try applying for a postgraduate course in Cranfield University or the Imperial College of Science and Techonology in UK. These universities have an excellent reputation in UK in the field of engineering. Though GRE is not required, you must have a high IELTS score (7.0). Partial scholarships may be available, but the competition is very tough. Apply as early as possible. Atleast six months before the scholarship deadline. The eligibility criteria for Masters Course in MIT are as follows:
Bachelor's degree or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of acceptable standing.
Good academic record throughout.
GRE score of 1300-1400 plus
IELTS score of 7 bands plus.
In order to get admission in UK universities you do not have to take GRE, you need to take only TOEFL or IELTS.
IELTS and TOEFL are the exams which need to be taken by all the international students whose first or native language is not English. So the student can take either TOEFL or IELTS.
Both IELTS and TOEFL has 4 section namely:
*Reading
*Writing
*Speaking
*Listening
TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) is of 120 marks, and all the good universities requires 80-90 plus score.
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is of 9 bands, and all the good universities requires 6.5-7 bands plus score.
GRE,is a test which need to be taken by all the student who wish to pursue MS course in US.
It is of 1600 marks, and all the good universities require 1200-1400 plus score.
