The starting salary would rather be based on the organization, its turn over and the responsibilities you get. If you are able to get into a profitable large organization with a big set of responsibilities and related work to deliver, then perhaps the salary would be to the tune of INR 25,000 to 40,000 per month. It also depends upon the nature of business of that organization. A finance company or a banking company will surely offer more. MNC 's can make even higher offer. But a manufacturing company might not be able to give a starting salary of more than INR 25,000 per month. A specifically chosen person for a specifc job can get higher but those are singular cases and thus cannot be generalized. Fresh MBA's should generally target starting salary in the range of INT 30,000 to 40,000 per month.

After B.E. it is possible to pursue M.Tech without GATE. But, as a friend I would suggest you to opt for M.Tech after clearing GATE exam as it opens more doors of esteemed universities such as IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc.
