No, your IELTS score is a bit on the lower end considering the requirement by most Canadian Universities and the visa consulate. The minimum requirement by most Canadian University is 6.5 band score with a minimum score of 6 in each section.
It is highly recommended that you retake the IELTS.

If you want to go for higher level of studies after Biomedical Engineering the fields which you can enter are: Bioinstrumentation, Tissue Engineering, Biomechanics, Clinical Engineering, and Orthopedic Bioengineering etc. However you can also opt for MBA if you want to get into management programme or of you want to get into teaching then do Masters and then PhD.
If you want to get into job after completing BE you can get employment with manufacturing companies, quality control and testing as also installation, maintenance or sales and marketing departments.
