Its true that some of the Business Schools have their seats filled up as a result of which you keep on getting the calls from counselors regarding admission. i had the same experiences last year when I wanted to choose a b school Which was really good. it was then that i got MAPS business School.
At MAPS B Schools the selection of procedure is dependent not just on your academic excellence but also on your extra curriculars. So if you have been the School of the college captain or have been a good orator, you stand a good chance to get admission.

Its good that you have seen the right criterion to choose the right b School. its very important that you weigh your criterion in a balanced way. and choose Placements and Faculty and their credetials above anything else.
I am a student at the MAPS institute which is backed by MNC like Educomp and Raffles group which is internationally renowned for its higher education in singapore. For deciding the best college for marketing you should always try to visit the college to see and rate the college on the following criterion.
1. Industry Linkages.
2. The faculty and Exposure
3. The Placements in general

It becomes difficult to resume the same course from where you had dropped out but then you can look forward to pursue the bachelors through correspondence starting afresh.

As for the duration of graduation is concerned, in India, the education system recognizes the course as a degree if it is run and approved by a University(approved by UGC) and is of a minimum duration of 3 years.
