Passing out with a good mark in B.Tech is sufficient, I think, for a good job. But if you are a geek and love studying, then you can go for B.Tech Honors on the elective subject you love. And definitely, there is an advantage of B.Tech honors over B.Tech, since, you are getting some extra. But I will say if you are not a geek or don't want to study or research much then it is better to go for B.Tech since nobody wants to take extra pressure.

I think CSE in NIT Jalandhar is better. Placements are extremely good of computer science students in NITJ. Feel are to ask about NITJ because I am also pursuing engineering from NITJ.
