Hi Sushma,
The official website does not mention the minimum percentage required for admission. Although, 45% is the minimum criterion for distance education, yet you should confirm it from the institute by directly contacting them.

NIT Kurukshetra is better in every aspect, if we compare to NIT-Jalandhar. Coming to the ranking by MHRD, this year 2017-2018 NIT Kurukshetra rank was 6 in all NIT. So, now you can choose easily and wisely. I hope this will clear you.

Well, both are top NITs but you should go as per your interest. MNIT, Jaipur is among top 5 but civil branch has less scope as compared to EC branch. You should go for EC branch which is most demanded and future scoring branch. All the best.

The cutoff in BC-B category is 36 for males according to 2017 LAWCET. So taking this into consideration; you will not get the OU campus but you will get other colleges. Please wait for official cutoff.

After Chemistry, all the general career options are open, like banking/Civil Services/Teaching/government jobs, etc. But, as you are a chemistry student and want to make your career future in chemistry only, then the options are different, like you can apply for Industries (where demand of chemists is always high), you can qualify GATE with high rank and can get into PSUs like ONGC, BHEL, etc. and can earn a handsome salary. Hi Gaurav,
Both institutes stand in top institutes of India. But as it is said old is gold MNIT, Jaipur is a perfect place for study. A good environment of Jaipur Pink City give you the comfort. MNIT has better infrastructure, better facilities, better faculty, more funding, more exposure for students etc. So go for MNIT. Apart from that focus on branch.
