What is AMIE?
Full form of AMIE is "Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers". AMIE is a professional certification given by Institution of Engineers (India). The qualification can be earned by passing Section A, Project Work and Section B examination of the Institution. If an applicant passes both sections of the examination, he or she becomes an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (AM). AMIE is equivalent to B Tech.
Sections A & B of AMIE Examinations are conducted in over 65 Examination Centres in the country and also in five overseas chapters (Kathmandu, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha and Kuwait).
About The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata
The institution of Engineers (India) frequently called IEI or AMIE Kolkata, is the premier and largest professional body of engineers in the country. The IEI has over seven lakh members on its roll and fifteen engineering disciplines co-exist under IEI. It has a network of 27 State Centres (at state capitals) and 76 Local Centres spreading all over India.

Eligibility For AMIE?
Who Can:
Polytechnic Diploma, Diploma from IETE, IME, ICE, IGNOU, CIPET and NTTF etc.
Diploma after ITI (lateral entry). Candidates who have passed 2-year ITI/Vocational Courses in specified trade, after class X and have got lateral entry directly in the Second year of 3-year Engineering Diploma Courses being conducted by respective State Board of Technical Education will be considered for Senior Technician Membership of the Institution.
10+2 in physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English is also recognised by IEI for doing AMIE. Minimum aggregate must be 45%, aggregate in PCM.
Who Can't:
Diploma from RVD, IASE and KSOU.

Great, things in software industry is changing drastically. You think about it, and it is already happening somewhere around the corner. I will say nobody can kill this industry, neither any technology can. But, a drift in the field can be easily seen. One need to keep themselves in race with this. For e.g, if a company is dealing in basic IT services, like website making (especially from scratch), SEO-SEM or even digital marketing, all will vanish soon in next 4-5 years. Not saying people won't need it, they'll. Big players in these industry are dependent on projects from around the world. This might get slower, as IT is no big deal for local super smart people can be trained on specific tool and get done. Though, one can blame "Internet. Org" programme for this. Internet. Orgis reaching out everywhere, initiated by founder of Facebook, Mark Zukerberg. With growing advancement in technology, I'm sure with the pool of talent of our people, that industry will survive every new hit on "technology". Nothing is more interrelated than in software industry. In a nutshell, you keep watch on what you want to learn. Should be dependent on real technology and must have demand in the market. Taking project from other countries might earn us a little cash, but we don't have to look for projects till whole next decade. Keep up the race, make technology happen in our country.
