Dropping a year for cracking JEE is a good option, provided you have will and dedication to remain focused on your objective. You require a plan to crack JEE. You may seek external support to overcome your weak areas. It is worth to try for it.

Mechanical engineering is the core branch of engineering with wide scope and lots of job opportunities. Aerospace engineering is a niche branch with comparatively lesser job opportunities in comparison to ME. But AE is a technology intensive branch with rapid changes. If you want to be pure technologist then AE in a better career option in comparison to ME else you may opt for ME.

You have multiple options.
1.appear for CAT and secure full time MBA program from a top tier institute.this could be a 2 year program
2. pursue executive MBA from a top tier institute.this could be a 18 month program
3. pursue part time MBA,wherein week end classes are being conducted.this could be a 3 year program
in the option 2nd & 3rd you can continue working and thus financially you can be independent & also work experience continues
since you have work experience in IT,& if you intend to continue building a career in IT then pursue a MBA in the said domain itself

PGDBM is comparatively a new course which is picking up its own pace. It is a niche segment and required by very few companies. Distant education will add a degree beside your name but you will not gain much of a career raise because of it. It would be better to go for a full time program.
