Guide-Level 13

Generally, there are no restrictions at all but it depends on a particular college or it depends on you only that what you have done after completing the job. If you were working after that, it means you have a work experience so the college will not get affected by it. But you can't get lateral entry due to time gap. If you have dropped 2-3 years, you may get a lateral entry but in this case, you can't get admission via lateral entry. You can take admission to B.Tech in any branch provided you have all therequired documents.

Hello Manash,
Diploma is a stepping stone for graduation. Hence, surely, you can change branch at the time of lateral entry. But unfortunately, every state has its own rules and hence which branches you can select is entirely dependent on this. Hence you will have to seek an answer to this on the webpage of DTE of Tech. Edu of your state.
