So, the rank of 1 to 20000 come in the first slot with scholarships, so probably you will get any branch in VIT, but it all comes down to the fees which You are going to pay each year.

The marks depend on your caste. At Anna University, counselling caste is taken into account
SC/ST - 160-170

Sure, you will be able to do so if you are able to clear the cut-off.
If you will not be able to get good marks in maths and have an elective subject as a sixth one then you can apply.
And the sixth one should be selected in class 11th only according to me. Also, it is only available in some schools.

The best is always IIT for engineering, but if you did not appear for JEE exams, it is not an issue. The best among private universities is BITS Pilani.
PSG is good in terms of placements. So, PSG is also a good choice. Many MNCs come for recruitment.
