Go fro CSE branch. IT branch was taken from CSE itself , in earlier times there was only CSE branch like ME was there and automobile engg was come out from ME.
CSE is the parent domain. There is nothing to confuse about this.
If i talk about placement all the companies has same criteria for CSE and IT. There is no difference in recruitment process.
For big universities they have system of open electives i.e you have option to choose a course courses. Check for Lovely Professional University, Thapar University, Sathyabama University, Techno Global University.
